Thermatool installs 1200 kW output welder at Malaysian pipe mill

Thermatool Corporation (www.thermatool.com) announced it started a CFI 1200 (1,200-kW output) Solid State Induction Welder at Alpine Pipe Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia. The welding unit was installed on a new pipe mill supplied by Nakata Mfg. Co. Ltd. of Osaka, Japan. The mill will produce API and structural pipes up to a maximum 18-in. (457.2 mm) diameter by 0.625-in. (15.90 mm) wall thickness. In addition to the CFI 1200 welder, Thermatool also provided three 500 kW 1 kHz annealing units for the pipe mill.
