Speedy robot

Panasonic Factory Solutions Co. (www.panasonicfa.com) developed a family of robots powered by the company's embedded arc control (EAC) technology that merges the robot, welder and wire-feeder controls into one unit housed within the robot controller. Panasonic says placing the various functions into the robot controller boosts information processing by 140 to 250 times, compared to other systems, resulting in increased speed, productivity, welding quality and flexibility. The company says its Tawers robots combination includes its SP-MAG short-circuit welding process that reduces arc spatter, and lift-start and lift-end robot motion to minimize arc ignition spatter.
