Air test stand

A new air test stand to conduct airflow calibrations on gas meters is available from Racine Federated Inc. (www.racinevortex.com). The system has a set of seven sonic nozzles arranged in a common manifold. Each nozzle has its own control valve so that quick connections can be made to the calibration manifold. The calibration manifold accommodates wafer meters that measure 12 in. to 4 in. in diameter, along with insertion meters in a 6-in. diameter pipe. The company says the complete stand accurately measures flow rates from 0.4 cu. ft. per minute to 2,800 cu. ft. per minute with ±0.5 percent accuracy. According to the company, sonic nozzles are recognized as the best secondary transfer standard for gas flow measurement, and are one of the most precise gas flow meters available.
